Knitted Minds
Rethinking SEMH through a neuro-inclusive lens.
Helping leaders to look beyond behaviour by rethinking SEMH through the lens of neuro-inclusion.
About Us
“A child’s behaviour is not their identity but the way you see it can affect how they see themselves”
Knitted Minds was founded by educator and researcher Shamylea Miller in January 2025. The vision is to transform the way schools understand and respond to behaviour by uncovering the “why” behind it. We envision every day of school for a child, who may have previously been viewed as challenging, being a day where they feel held, heard and understood.

Together We Can
Improve the school experience for every child.
End cycles of punishing difference.
Reduce suspensions and exclusions of misunderstood students.
Our Services
Have you identified a need to develop neuro-inclusive practice across your setting?
Does your school or organisation have a goal to improve behaviour and wellbeing?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, have a look at our services and get in touch.
Consultancy
Consultancy is tailored to meet your school or organisation's needs and budget. The goal is to shift culture, deepen understanding and find solutions that lead to long lasting change. This may be achieved through strategy meetings, solution circles, inclusion audits, development of implementation plans and/or planning of student interventions.
Coaching
Coaching sessions can take place one to one or in groups. These sessions can be used for neurodivergent staff to support them in leveraging strengths and navigate workplace challenges.
Sessions can also be used to develop staff skills in how they support challenging behaviour.
CPD & Talks
CPD sessions can cover a range of topics all with the goal of improving staff understanding around neurodivergence and how best to support children and young people. Sessions will be tailored to meet your school or organisation's needs. Talks can be booked for conferences, forums, panels or whole school inset days.
