Coaching With Knitted Minds

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the focus of Knitted Minds coaching?
The focus of coaching depends on who the sessions are for and the goals of your school or organisation. For neurodivergent staff, sessions may centre on building confidence, understanding strengths, and managing workplace challenges. For leaders, managers, or staff working with neurodivergent students, coaching may focus on developing inclusive practices, supporting wellbeing, and improving understanding of the link between neurodivergence, behaviour, and emotional regulation.

2. Who is the coaching for?
Coaching is available for:

  • Neurodivergent staff who want to build confidence, manage challenges, and work in alignment with their strengths.
  • Leaders, HR teams, and managers who want to better understand and support neurodivergent colleagues.
  • Staff working directly with neurodivergent students who want to develop practical approaches that support both behaviour and emotional wellbeing.

3. What topics can coaching cover?
Coaching sessions are tailored to each individual or team. Common focus areas include:

Understanding your neurotype and using it as a strength

Managing focus, energy, and executive functioning

Building confidence, boundaries, and self-advocacy

Navigating communication and sensory differences

Supporting neurodivergent students through a SEMH lens

Developing inclusive leadership and team culture

4. How are sessions delivered?
Sessions can take place one-to-one or in small groups, either in person or online. Each session provides a confidential, supportive space to explore challenges, identify practical strategies, and build confidence over time.

5. How many sessions are included?
All coaching packages include a minimum of six sessions, usually delivered fortnightly or monthly. This allows time for reflection, application, and sustained growth. Longer programmes can be arranged for continued development or ongoing supervision.

6. What’s the difference between individual and group coaching?
Individual coaching provides tailored support and a private space for personal reflection and growth.
Group coaching encourages shared learning, helping teams or peer groups to build understanding, collaboration, and inclusive practices together.

7. How does coaching support wider organisational change?
Coaching bridges the gap between policy and practice. It helps individuals and teams internalise inclusion principles, strengthen emotional wellbeing, and sustain positive behaviour and culture change across the organisation.

8. What outcomes can we expect?
You can expect:

Greater self-awareness and confidence

Improved communication and relationships

Reduced stress and burnout

Better understanding of how to support neurodivergent colleagues and students

A more compassionate and inclusive workplace culture

9. Do you offer ongoing coaching beyond the initial package?
Yes. After the initial six sessions, many clients continue with ongoing or termly coaching to maintain progress, deepen reflection, and sustain culture change.

10. How do we get started?
You can arrange a discovery call to discuss your goals, context, and preferred coaching format. From there, we’ll design a tailored six-session package that meets your needs and supports lasting development.
